Bug Labs modular anything device

This is so rad, I want one.

Universal hardware platform with plug’n’play components.

A central CPU, and modules you can plug into it like LCD screens, GPS units, wireless modems, motion sensors, etc.

The software knows how to work with the devices and you just write programs to operate them.

All this stuff lately that’s been happening with phones is pretty exciting.

Maybe palm dropped the ball, or the hardware and software thing wasn’t quite ready, but it really seems like just quite recently fully functioning computers with fully functioning operating systems and applications have become widely available and affordable. Rad!

It’s interesting that you can now detect when a trend is afoot by seeing if there’s dedicated blogs on the subject.

Sweet! This is looking very fascinating. It’s all the stuff I had hoped would be possible with the iPhone… Here are four videos produced by Google that do a fantastic job introducing the platform. The first is a overview by Mr. Brin himself, followed by a 3 part overview of some of the technical details. The last video (part 3 of 3) is really the most interesting in showcasing the cooler aspects of what will be possible with the platform.
